‘Friends of Mitzo’ returns for the third and final instalment of 2017 this November, concluding the highly coveted collaborative dinner series led by Mitzo’s Executive Chef Nicky Ng, which has featured some of Singapore’s top chefs. Ending off the series is none other than celebrity Mod-Sin chef, Shen Tan. Famed for her innovative interpretation of traditional local flavours, the cooking doyenne will bring her culinary finesse to complement Chef Nicky’s progressive Cantonese fare. Delve into an exquisite fare of local flavours redefined, brilliantly executed through nostalgic textures in unexpected forms. Dishes include the amuse bouche featuring a re-interpretation of Chef Shen’s famed Nasi Lemak, renewed with a dash of sophistication in the form of a bite-sized sushi. Relish in the tantalising Pork ribs and coconut soup with dumplings, served with an earthy buah keluak dumpling, and a luscious prawn with laksa leaf pesto dumpling, a unique interaction of flavours that leaves you wanting for more. Indulge in Chef Nicky’s luxurious Lobster claw topped with truffles sauce, served alongside an aromatic carrot broth poached rice, before rounding off the feast with a Pan-fried png kueh, served with a side of salted egg yolk ice cream. The wonderful cuisine of the night is complimented by a fine selection of Asian inspired tipples to complete the whole Mitzo dining experience. Whet your appetite with Teaser, a sparkling floral cocktail, or revel in Summer Botanic, a refreshing concoction that doubles as a palate cleanser, featuring chamomile tea infused whiskey, paired with apricot brandy, rose and apple syrup, lemon juice, and apple soda, that is shaken to perfection.
