


















Cluny House by Guz Architects for rent - 6 Bedrooms - Basement entertainment room - wine cellar - 6 en-suite bathrooms, 1 common, 1 powder room and 1 in the yard - swimming pool Amidst the lush environment of Singapore, Guz Architects have built a home that engages the local environment in almost every aspect of its design. The house is laid out around a central water court that forms the focal point of the project. Lushly planted roof gardens surround this and add to the effect that nature is evident in every part of the house. The design of the home is open and contemporary, where public sections have no walls, just open access to the watery central courtyard. Private sections are hidden from view of guests and neighbours, but still provide easy access to the communal center of the home. This project also demonstrates how technology, planning and design can be applied sensitively to generate a comfortable, luxurious, yet sustainable family home. Photovoltaic cells and sun powered water warmers are utilised together with configuration for aloof cooling and cross ventilation to decrease vitality use. Watering system tanks and rooftop gardens gather and reuse water; and the utilisation of materials, for example, reused teak and manufactured timber includes warmth without trading off the limited assets of our surroundings. The main endeavour of Guz Architects was to create a residence with seamless integration of the surrounding nature and therefore water had to play a key role in achieving that.
