Both are strata-titled private homes. 'Apartment' usually refers to smaller developments, often without full facilities, while a 'condominium' is built on a larger site (at least 4,000 sqm under URA guidelines) and provides facilities such as a pool, gym and security.
Tenants typically pay half a month's rent as commission for a one-year lease, or one month for a two-year lease, when they use their own agent. Ask the agent on the listing how commission is split before you view.
Usually your passport, a valid work or student pass, recent payslips or an employment letter, and a completed tenant application form. Foreigners are generally asked for a deposit equal to two months' rent.
